BREAKING: President Trump Calls For a Special Prosecutor to Investigate The 2020 Election
President Donald Trump is once again demanding a special prosecutor be appointed to investigate what he has called “the most corrupt election in American history.”
The renewed call came Friday in a Truth Social post that highlighted the sharp contrast between his administration’s border policy and the current state of illegal immigration under President Joe Biden.
“Zero Border crossings for the month for TRUMP, verses 60,000 for Sleepy, Crooked Joe Biden,” Trump wrote. “A man who lost the 2020 Presidential Election by a LANDSLIDE!”
The 45th president followed with a direct demand for action, writing, “Biden was grossly incompetent and the 2020 election was a total FRAUD! The evidence is MASSIVE and OVERWHELMING. A Special Prosecutor must be appointed.”
Trump’s statement reignites a debate that has refused to die among millions of Americans who still question the integrity of the 2020 election.
Despite repeated attempts by Democrats and the media to shut it down, the demand for transparency remains strong.
The president tied his renewed demand to current policy failures under the Biden administration. He used the latest border statistics to contrast his leadership with Biden’s.
According to CBP, there were zero illegal immigrants released into the U.S. during May under Trump. That number was over 60,000 under Biden for the same month last year.
“It’s incomprehensible that a president can destroy the border and still act like he was fairly elected,” Trump told supporters.
Trump has consistently maintained that the 2020 election was stolen from him. In the months leading up to the certification of the results, his legal team filed dozens of lawsuits across key battleground states.
Most were thrown out by judges citing lack of standing or evidence.
However, Trump and his allies have pointed to serious concerns, including midnight ballot dumps, unsecured drop boxes, and mass mail-in ballots with no signature verification. These claims have been amplified by documentaries and independent investigations.
“The media calls it baseless, but they ignore sworn affidavits, statistical anomalies, and late-night counting stops,” said Jenna Ellis, a former Trump legal advisor.
Trump supporters also criticized former Vice President Mike Pence for refusing to send the electoral results back to state legislatures.
Pence said the Constitution did not give him that authority. Trump argued that the process was flawed and deserved further review.
“This cannot be allowed to happen again in the United States of America,” Trump declared in his post. “Let the work begin!”
He also added, “What this Crooked man, and his CORRUPT CRONIES, have done to our Country in 4 years, is grossly indescribable! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
Despite the continued push from Trump and his supporters, former Attorney General Bill Barr and the Department of Homeland Security have both stated that no widespread fraud occurred. But critics argue that these institutions have become politicized and are no longer impartial.
A recent case in Pennsylvania may strengthen Trump’s argument.
Two men were convicted of election fraud in a local mayoral race and received harsher sentences than expected. It has reignited discussions on how vulnerable some parts of the system remain.
Red state attorneys general have also launched investigations into possible noncitizen voting in the 2024 election. In at least one state, more than 30 potential illegal votes are under review.
It remains unclear whom Trump would like to see appointed as special prosecutor. If Attorney General Pam Bondi responds to his call, she may need to select someone already confirmed by the Senate.
