BREAKING: President Trump’s HUD Secretary Scott Turner is Kicking Off All Illegal Immigrants From…
HUD Secretary Scott Turner has launched a decisive effort to remove illegal immigrants from the rolls of federally subsidized housing programs.
Under new directives from HUD, public housing authorities must now verify the immigration status of all Section 8 recipients. Failure to comply may result in a loss of federal funds.
Turner made the stakes clear. “No longer will illegal aliens be able to leave citizenship boxes blank or take advantage of HUD-funded housing, riding the coattails of hardworking American citizens.”
He stressed that the department would fully enforce laws already on the books that bar illegal immigrants from receiving federal housing assistance.
“American tax dollars should be used for the benefit of American citizens,” Turner stated.
HUD also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Department of Homeland Security to improve data-sharing and enforcement efforts.
Under the agreement, HUD will assign personnel to work with DHS and ensure compliance across local housing agencies.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem applauded the move, saying, “If you are an illegal immigrant, you should leave now. The gravy train is over.”
In another major policy shift, Turner announced that the Federal Housing Administration would no longer back mortgage loans for non-permanent residents, including DACA recipients and asylum seekers.
“American taxpayers will no longer subsidize open borders by offering home loans to those who enter our nation illegally,” Turner said.
The change applies to all new applications moving forward and includes applicants who previously received exemptions under Obama- and Biden-era rules.
Turner emphasized that this change is not about cruelty, but about fairness. “We do not like to tear up families,” he said. “But we have an obligation to serve the American people.”
The administration expects housing authorities to comply within 30 days, with ongoing audits to ensure continued eligibility checks.
Housing watchdogs praised the directive, calling it long overdue and essential for protecting limited resources for lawful residents.
Many Americans have expressed outrage in recent years as they see illegal immigrants receiving benefits while veterans and low-income citizens remain on waiting lists.
Turner promised to streamline HUD programs and remove any bureaucratic red tape preventing benefits from reaching deserving citizens.
He also pledged to increase work requirements and remove fraud across housing programs to ensure every dollar is spent responsibly.
Predictably, progressive organizations reacted with fury. Immigration and housing activists claimed the policy could result in evictions for families with mixed immigration status.
One advocacy leader warned the policy “will create fear and panic” among immigrant communities.
Turner countered that the law has always excluded illegal immigrants and that enforcement is simply catching up to the reality on the ground.
Critics within Congress have already begun crafting letters and potential lawsuits, hoping to reverse the move through the courts.
But supporters in the Republican-led House applauded Turner’s action, calling it a long-awaited correction of bureaucratic abuse.
As Turner stated, “We are not anti-immigrant. We are pro-law, pro-citizen, and pro-America.”
This policy shift signals a broader push by the Trump administration to return every federal department to serving the American people first.
