George Soros’s “Right Hand Man” Arrested, Charged in Stomach-Churning Human Trafficking Case

Finally, after years of public calls for justice, Howard Rubin, a 70-year-old retired financier, and his assistant, Jennifer Powers, were indicted on September 26, 2025, for sex trafficking and transporting women for commercial sex acts.

For context, Rubin, who some have called the ‘Right Hand Man’ of George Soros. worked as a portfolio manager at Soros Fund Management from 2008 to 2015, where he specialized in mortgage-backed securities after the financial crash. Additionally, Howard Rubin was involved in the infamous 1987 Merrill Lynch trading scandal, detailed in Michael Lewis’s famous book, Liar’s Poker.

However, according to federal authorities, Rubin and his assistant allegedly recruited women for sordid sexual parties from 2009 to 2019, replete with violent abuse, which is said to have caused serious injuries.

In any case, Joseph Nocella Jr, the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, dug into the details. “As alleged, the defendants used Rubin’s wealth to mislead and recruit women to engage in commercial sex acts, where Rubin then tortured women beyond their consent, causing lasting physical and/or psychological pain, and in some cases physical injuries,” he reluctantly.

Still not done, the attorney added, “Today’s arrests show that no one who engages in sex trafficking, in this case in luxury hotels and a penthouse apartment that featured a so-called sex ‘dungeon,’ is above the law, and that they will be brought to justice.”

Concluding his comments, he condemned the action of the callous financier. “Human beings are not chattel to be exploited for sex and sadistically abused, and anyone who thinks otherwise can expect to find themselves in handcuffs and facing federal prosecution like these defendants,” Nocella expounded.

Adding his own take, FBI Assistant Director in Charge Christopher G. Raia explained the scope of these crimes. The FBI director noted, “For many years, Howard Rubin and Jennifer Powers allegedly spent at least one million dollars to finance the commercial sexual torture of multiple women via a national trafficking network.”

Building on this point, he provided an explanation of how these crimes were committed. “The defendants allegedly exploited Rubin’s status to ensnare their prospective victims and forced them to endure unthinkable physical trauma before silencing any outcries with threats of legal recourse,” Raia revealed.

Shining light on another aspect of the case, IRS Special Agent in Charge Harry T. Chavis blasted the two defendants. He explained how, “It’s alleged Rubin directed a sex trafficking enterprise, exploiting women who were transported from across the country to his Manhattan penthouse that was equipped with a soundproof sex room filled with BDSM equipment, including a device used to shock or electrocute the women.”

Bringing the document to a close, he revealed horrific details about the case. ”This was not a one-man show. While Rubin dehumanized these women with abhorrent sexual acts, Powers is alleged to have run the day-to-day operations of the enterprise and got paid generously for her efforts. IRS-CI and FBI partnered to see that all the facts are detailed in this case and ensure that this pair realizes the full consequences of their ghastly behaviors,” the special agent stated.
